good subject! this synthasizers replacing orchestral instruments.
did anyone catch the world music awards last night? If you did you may
have seen the winner of the best/best selling classical artist...who
also was the best selling italian artist. I give the guy credit for
having a great voice, and over coming being blind to become a
performer...but something that totally pissed me off was the fact that
the music in the background was all synthasizers! The piano player
behind the singer couldn't be heard. I don't know about anyone else, but
I prefer the sound of a real bassoon to a synthasized one (which sounds
just horrible). Makes me wonder what will happen to classical music if
this is all classical music is perceived to be. Its bad enough that
classical music is virtually ignored by the world audience, but now
they've replaced the orchestras with keyboards and call it 'best selling
classical music'. It is very sad.

(enough of my venting)
