On my mouthpiece I generally use Vandoren 3 1/2 or Zonda 3 1/2 (love the
Zonda!) if for some reason I need a bunch of playable reeds all at once (for
example: a bunch of outdor concerts) I'll buy a box of Mitchel Lurie #5's.

The ML #5 has the same resistence as the 3 1/2 Vandorens and Zondas.

The thing about ML's: Play the good ones right out of the
box..............they wont last a long time, and prob one good concert will
kill them. As far as I can tell, they do NOT improve...only fade. Dont mess
much with the duds....not worth it.

To me a Mitchel Lurie is like a disposable razor..................use it,
throw it away.
