Matt,

A 115 tip opening could use a harder reed - but a 3 is still a soft reed
on this mouthpiece. A hard reed with this mouthpiece might better be
described as a 4 or 4.5. I play on a 120 tip opening (Pyne M facing) and I
use size 4 Vandorens - which seems fairly agressive. There are many
people who prefer even stiffer reeds with that size tip opening!
