Well, at one time I purchased a B45 (which is now collecting dust in my
clarinet accessory drawer), and there was a mouthpiece patch that came with
it. This Vandoren mouthpiece patch is perfect for me. It is not thick. I
can't stand thick because it feels unnaturally soft. I also feel that with a
thicker patch, the vibrations the mouthpiece goes through is different,
because your teeth aren't close to the mouthpiece. The sound is unnatural to
me. The Vandoren mouthpiece patch is thin so your teeth are as close to the
mouthpice as possible, without actually touching it, making a more natural
sound. (I know that might not make sense, but bear with me here.)
It is not too thin so that I break through. I've played on this patch for
well over a year, and it has not broke, and my teeth did not make deep
grooves; there is only a small trace of teeth marks. I'd reccomend this patch
to everyone!
