I've been collecting metals for about 30 years now . I've purchased and sold
about 200 horns and managed to keep about 80 for myself. I've yet to find a
really good one. I've been told that they were made during one of the wars
when wood from Africia was difficult to obtain. Many manufacturers made them.
I've got them from USA, Germany, France and other Eastern European countries.
Here in the Mid Alantic states the most popular brands seem to be Cavalier,
Peerless, Pan American and Truetone. I don't know of any published history on
these horns and I have been looking for years. If you will share your
findings with me I'll publish my current inventory. Perhaps if we all
contribute we can sort out the history. I'll send more this week end. Good
luck, Jerry Lamie
