Is the ligature stripped, or is the screw? If it is the ligature, face it:
the thing is shot! Wrapping screws is only a stopgap, and the purists
will no doubt say that you are severely altering the tone. If the SCREW is
stripped, assuming it is a standard type ligature screw, they cost less
than a dollar. Go buy a new one!
Of course, disregard all of the above if ligature is an obscure, esoteric
model, or has great sentimental value.
