Interesting that you should jump to that conclusion. Actually I'm a manager
in a computer software company and I travel because I manage programmers,
sales people, QA staff, developers and deal with customers, vendors, and
suppliers flung all around the globe. My travel has nothing to do with
playing the clarinet and taking my clarinet with me on a trip is more of an
attempt to keep doing some things that I would do in my daily life at home -
to keep some sanity and fun in my life.

I'd probably be annoyed if I were in a hotel room trying to get some work
done and I heard someone practicing an instrument. As someone who plays I'd
probably be tolerant of it, but I can easily understand how business
travellers might feel that their room should be quiet. Hence I don't mind
going outside to play.
