Peter,
I use plumbers tape for this problem. It still wears out quickly but is easy to replace and very cheap.

Klarinetters,

Aside from buying a new ligature, has anyone got an idea for how to
overcome this? I've tried wrapping the screw tip in thread, which works
great but seems to wear out after a couple of sessions.
