Subj: [kl] downloading MIDI files
Date: Mon, 25 May 1998 19:17:01 -0400

I can now answer my own recent query about downloading MIDI files. If I
had taken the time to look, I would have seen that Oliver Seeley, at his
site (http://chemistry.csudh.edu/oliver/clarmusi.htm), very nicely
explained how this is done:

"To retrieve them successfully
Using Netscape on a PC: Place the mouse cursor on the file link, hold
down the SHIFT key and click the mouse.
Using Netscape on a Mac: Click the mouse with the cursor on the link,
unless you have installed software which
automatically plays MIDI files downloaded from the Web. In that case
there are a couple of things that ought to work: (1)
Click on the file and hold until the dialog box appears; (2) hold down
the option key and click on the file. If you use Encore
on the MAC you may need to install the program MIDI Typer to be able to
play the downloaded files.

Some other sites for PD MIDI files:

Thanks to all who offered their suggestions.
