The guys who repaired my Centered Tone back in December seemed to think that
the particular "run" of instruments from about 1957 were somewhat anomalous
because the keys are "German silver" instead of silver-plated. High-end
Selmers, they said, usually had silver plated keys except for this
particular Q-series. I don't know if that's entirely accurate.

I also own a Selmer Centered Tone Q series and I have been told the same
story. I play with another person whose Q series Centered Tone has brightly
polished keys but they too are german silver - he had them buffed bright for
some reason. Does anyone know whether buffing german sliver keys is anything
other than a cosmetic choice?
