I would like to suggest that you obtain a copy of Norman Lebrecht's two recent
books: The Maestro Myth and Who Killed Classical Music. I think there are
references to salaries in one or both books. I would also like to suggest that
you check out a listserve called Orchestralist. This is the list that pertains to
conducting and orchestra-related issues.
