In regards to choosing an instrment, try several instruments and find one you
are most comfortable with. If too many people picked that, then have an
alternative ready. I had to learn tuba, french horn, and trombone for various
marching band, concert band, and jazz band songs. (My main brass instrument
is trumpet.) I had to be extremely versatile. It happens when you have a
tiny band!
