Mark,
Some thoughts.
Is the Grand Canyon Suite considered major repertoire for clarinet?
The Bass Clarinet part usually appears on auditions.

Hi gang,

I have an interesting question: When I see lists of repertoire for
orchestra auditions, it seems that the Grand Canyon Suite is never
listed. In the first clarinet part, there is this truly evil part with
triplets, starting WAAAYY up high on the Bb above the Bb above the staff
(the one you get by overblowing the HIGH F). Also, there's a sextuplet
part in 6 or 7 sharps that is killer hard, too.

The Daphnis & Chloe excerpt is often asked for - why not the Grand
Canyon?

What does everyone think??
