Hello to all.
I am thinking of switching from my Rovner to a new ligature. I would
like to thouroughly check out my choices, but since I cannot try my
choices out until at least this summer when I am at Crane, asking you
all is the next best thing.
I have heard that the Bonade ligatures are excellent quality for a low
price. The regular and inverted are the same price, and I have been
told that the only difference is the aesthetic value.
Some people have mentioned the Brancher ligature, which sounds pretty
nice--but how expensive is it?
I have read a little bit about the Vandoren Optimum ligature. It sounds
really nice with the vertical tightening system and everything. I have
asked several players whether or not they have ever tried this ligature
and none have, so if someone has, how is it? I do not believe that the
Woodwind & Brasswind carries this particular ligature, and looking up
the price from Vandoren's U.S. retailer, found that it is kind of out of
my price range for a ligature.
Any other suggestions for a cheap ($50 or under) ligature for a good
price would, of course, be welcome.
Thank you all very much.
Mark
