1) You could well leave cells from the inside of your mouth on a reed
which
would nourish viruses, though they *will* die off sometime, no doubt..
2) Peroxide does have some genuine disinfectant action - it's mainly
useful against anaerobic organisms, though, which are unlikely to be found
on reeds.
