I have played on several Selmer (Paris) model 33 low C bass clarinets
that had really stuffy/muffled sounding low F#, F, and E. This has been
the only disadvantage I've found, but a truly annoying one since my
Series 9 low Eb Selmer bass has such a nice low register.
If I don't need the low C horn, I don't use it. I really like the timbre
of the low Eb horn on low G-E.
Someone asked about the Leblanc Esprit. This instrument is a renamed
Noblet -same thing.
