I doubt that the case is the problem, but anything is possible. Check how
the student assembles, swabs, and disassembles the instrument. It is
likely that undue force is being applied to the key at those times. We see
a lot of that problem in students' clarinets.

If it proves to be a case problem, try adding something as additional
blocking to hold the join more firmly in the case.
