In the score I have I only notice one oboe line throughout the entire second suite. You
are correct in the case of the first suite, which contains an occasional divisi. I
targeted the second suite mainly because of the scores I have for both suites, the
version of the second makes a big deal about the instrumentation.

Point well taken, though I was making reference to the second suite, you are again
correct in reference to the Suite in Eb. Note that the percussion could be covered by
three or four players, even though six instruments are included.

And my point is that there is a general definition, however the term can be adapted, and
is adapted frequently.

Thank you, and your comments have helped to clear a few points in my mind concerning the
Holst suites.
