I just looked at my Rovner on my mouthpiece, and I fail to see where this
contact is taking place. The screw sits well ABOVE my mouthpiece (Selmer
C85), and there is cloth material underneath it as well. But even so, I
can't imagine that it would make any difference to the sound, and it is of
little cosmetic interest either, since the scuff will be hidden in use by
the ligature itself.
