+AHw-Before I had my BG Revelation ligature, I used a Rovner on my mouthpiece,
and
+AHw-it scuffed the top of my mouthpiece by leaving a dip in the mouthpiece from
+AHw-when I turned the screw....and the funny thing is that ligatutre was never
+AHw-that tight to do that. Will the scuffs affect the sound? I didn't think
so,
+AHw-but I thought I would double-check.

I'm a big rovnerite (mostly because I can't afford a better ligature, and it
works better than the ones I've tried and looks better than my homemade
masking tape/rubber band ligatures, which actually played really well...
just my lovely fellow band members felt it looked incredibly stupid and ugly
+ADw-g+AD4-).

I've also noticed the scuffing from the screw, and I highly highly highly
doubt it would affect the sound of the instrument, at all, and if it did, it
wouldn't be much. Mostly, because the scuffing is on the outside and not the
inside, and the most it'll scuff it maybe, at most .5mm.

But for my money, the Rovner can scuff all it wants. It plays well, and it's
cheap.
