I have a Charles Bay mouthpiece and I also use a Rovner Ligature. I do not
haveany kind of scuff mark or scratching on the surface of the moutpice. I
believe that it could be that my mouthpiece is a smaller width that others.

A student of mine has the problem with ligature scratching and we solved
the problem by cutting up a thin mouthpiece cushion and placing over the
problem area.

But, I believe that it could just be the size of the mouthpiece (the width
where the ligature is placed).

Does anyone else have a theory???
