Batons are a fairly personal choice.....but there are some good makers out
there:

Charles Olson makes a beautiful, custom baton for between $20 and $35 I
believe. He will make it with a wood or fiberglass shaft........the
handles are made of Rosewood, Cherry, Walnut, just about anything you ask
for.....there are counterbalances in the end of the handle......quite nice
to look at......that allow the baton to balance perfectly at the point at
which the handle meets the shaft. His address and telephone, last that I
heard are:

Many people also seem to like the Mollard Batons....these come in two
lengths.....12" and 14" (the latter has always seemed too long).....and
you can purchase a case for a set........for about $90 I believe. The
Mollard batons run about $18-22. You should be able to purchase them from
the WW& BW or from International Musical Suppliers.

These are really the best batons out there.....but other people may have
suggestions......?
