And how would we tell the scowl from GS's normal countenance?!?

My favorite Szell story comes from Rudolf Bing's book, "A Knight at the
Opera". Bing and some other person were discussing Szell and what a
miserable human being he was. The other person, in an attempt to de-fuse
the conversation, said, "Oh. George Szell is his own worst enemy!" To
which Bing replied, "Not while I am alive!"

Cleveland Orchestra sure was great then!
