In high school, I once had to march while playing a tenor sax without a
strap (the strap broke as we were lined up on the sideline to march out!).
This particular tenor weighed more than any sax I've ever played (including
a bari!) - I would not be surprised if it wasn't mostly lead! To make it
more interesting, our band director insisted on all sax players marching
with the sax held in front, NOT to the side!
