Yes, I am able to switch mouthpiece and barrel together when changing
clarinets and continue to play in tune (both with myself and with the
ensemble). Your comment regarding barrel length seems backward however.
Typically, the Bb barrel is a little longer than the A barrel, like a
66 mm vs. a 65 mm respectively, or an arrangement of similar proportion.
