The attachment is a copy of the the first page of a new clarinet solo by
Mark Gustavson. The work is entitled Trickster I with a duration of
approximately seven

BIOGRAPHY

Mark Gustavson was born in Brooklyn but grew up outside of Chicago. He
received his B.Mus. in composition and clarinet from the University of
Illinois-Urbana, the M.A. and the D.M.A. from Columbia University. Mr.
Gustavson also attended Tanglewood on a Leonard Bernstein Fellowship,
the Banff
Centre both as a composer and performer and the Sweelinck Conservatorium
in Amsterdam on a Fulbright Fellowship. He has received commissions
from,
among others, Parnassus, the Fromm Foundation, Serge Koussevitzky Music
Foundation and the New York Youth Symphony. His works, which are
predominantly instrumental, have been performed across the United States
and Canada as well as Europe. Some of his many awards and prizes
include the
Walter Hinrichsen Award from the American Academy/Institute of Arts and
Letters, Kucyna Prize finalist, League-ISCM Composer Competition, Bearns
Prize,
New Music Consort Composer Competition. Works of his have been a part
of the Gaudeamus and Sonic Boom festivals. Mr. Gustavson is published
by C. F.
Peters. Other recent works that feature clarinet are Trickster II
clarinet solo and Quintet for clarinet and string quartet.
