Yes, they ARE different! Each brand has it's own distinct cut, and the
degree of cane selectivity varies. I use La Voz reeds on my Otto Link alto
sax mouthpiece, but I just started using Hemkes on my C*. Different cuts
for different mouthpieces. I also like Mitchell Lurie for clarinet. The
variability of Vandoren's was beginning to wear me down.
