i have had bad experiences with A clarinets and one thing I would suggest you
look out for when you are selecting an A, is how well it matches with your B
flat. If you will be playing in an orchestra, you probably will be switching
off and on with your two instruments depending on what you are playing. Alot
of times A clarinets tend to be stuffier and much more resistant, so the more
matched they are the easier it is to adjust when you are playing them both.
As far as models go, I prefer the sound of Leblancs; they have a nice round
and even sound, so it depends on your taste. Good luck!!
