I participated in their trial run when the Zondas first came out,
and was excited at first by the consistency and responsiveness
of each reed out of the "box". But then I discovered that these
reeds fade rather quickly, even with proper breaking-in, and was
thankful that the ones I was initially sent were free. I found
no advantage to being able to see the reed through the little
plastic window in their package, and still write it off as a
sort of marketing gimmic.

That's a rather broad statement ("most people"), and unless you've
conducted a credible study, it may be incorrect. Personally, I can't
afford to purchase enough reed cases to store all of the reeds that I
break in at one time. I'd prefer the option to store them in the
original packaging in some cases, warpage issues notwithstanding.
