I switched my students to the new Marcas because we could no longer get the
Grand Concert reeds we had been using. I really expected them to be quite
good, but was very disapointed! Now that the Grand Concert thick blank
select are again available, we've gone back to those. In the mean time,
however, we tried several other brands including Zonda, Peter Ponzel,
Queens, Glotin, Esser, Alexander Supereal, and Austrailian Vintage Hand
finished. The only ones out of all of those that were satisfactory to me
and my students were the Essers. Of course, I realize that you may be
looking for a different sound than we are.
