There is some truth to this, but at the same time, Vito is still not a
professional level horn. I've played vitos, and they are nice (they do
have a slightly darker quality than most brands of the same level). They
are constructed well and are quite decent - but are just under par (or is
it over par? I don't play golf...) with what is considered a proline sax.
I would compare it to a Sonata or Infinite clarinet by LeBlanc, or perhaps
a Buffet B-12. Good, great, but not the best. There's nothing wrong with
that, mind you - it's just that in general, I'm only going to lean to the
best, because I'm deluded enough to be a performance major, and in that
field, they only take the best...^_^
