The Blayman bass clarinet/bassoon stand should be perfect for your
needs. Besides holding the contra, it will also hold at least four
other instruments, all in the space of about 18 x 18 inches.

If you do order one from Blayman (lives in Belen, NM and is in the
phone book) be sure to tell him that you want to have the model
for doublers even if you are not going to get the doubling attachments
at once. This is because extra work is involved in preparing the
stand for eventual doubling.

At one time I had two such stands and I would use them in Mahler
symphonies that called for 2 bass clarinets and 4 clarinets. Never
had a problem.
