To all you who addressed this issue so far:
Thanks very much!

I bought this instrument from a NW music dealer who had advertised it
on Internet. I do not know much about Basset horns but thought it would
be a great instrument to add to my modest collection of a Bb and A
clarinet <grin>. At the time of purchase I remarked that it didn't look
like the Basset horn a friend of mine has, but was advised by the dealer
that there are more than one model of bassetts. Anyway, because of its
excellent condition and what I thought was a rarity, I wound up buying
it and then when I got home, comparing it with the other Bassett, the
difference was apparent. I still thought I just had a cheaper version of
a bassett horn. This Bundy horn is much shorter and does not have any of
the extra keys. It doesn't sound like the Bassett either.
Thanks to your replies, I have sent a message to the dealer appealing
to his sense of fairness and will wait to see what his response is. I
believe him to be an honest person and expect satisfaction in the
matter. Hence, I will not divulge the particulars of the sale at this
time. But I did want you to know why I queried the group with this
"dumb" query. I am feeling very dumb at this time.

With regards,
Dick Damon
