<< would like some recommendations on a notation program for PC.
Some things I want to the program to do:
Input through MIDI device (keyboard, etc)
Output through MIDI device
For PC with WIN 95
Editing features:
Trills
Slurs
Dynamics
Bass, Treble, and moveable clefs (last is optional)
Import Midi files
Export to Midi files
Allow multiple staves (at least 16...32 preferred)
Transposition
Grace Notes
Tempo Variances
That should be it. I would also like the program to be able to print a
score or each instrument so that my original compositions and arrangements
could be printed and used with my highschool band or orchestra.
Anything else anyone thinks I might need?
My main uses will be arranging, composing, and arranging for duets, trios,
etc. >>
I'm finding Finale 97 for Windows to be very versatile. It's powerful and
takes some time to get a handle on, but the amount of features make it worth
the trouble, in my opinion. All to often I end up being disappointed with
software that does not allow enough manipulation. Finale does.
