|Can someone help me identify a Selmer Bundy horn S/N 6333? It measures
|27" from the top of the body where the neck attaches to the bottom of
|the bell, which is shaped like an alto or bass clarinet bell. It was
|represented as being a bassett horn which I assumed was in the key of F.
|However, when playing a C on the horn the sound is an Eb. What do I have
|here?

Most likely, what you have is an alto clarinet, which is an Eb instrument.

Also, Basset Horns can come in two ways. One, a very very very long and wide
bored clarinet (like a basset clarinet, but in F) or like the way you've
described it. The basset clarinets I HAVE seen include one that looks like
an alto clarinet with a bass clarinet neck. The other is the one in the
Leblanc catalogue, which looks just like an alto except a bit longer, and an
extra low C key. I would guess that this basset horn is just an alto
clarinet changed slightly to the key of F. (Kind of like the Eb Alto/F Alto
Sax thing)
