I think he plays Yamaha clarinets, has for years, and even works as one of
their clinicians. Surprised the hell out of me: I'm old enough to still
associate Yamaha with motorcycles.
I play a Selmer but I do NOT sound like Benny Goodman.
I don't think owning a Yamaha would make me play like DeFranco.
A Buffet would not make me sound like Ken Peplowski.
A LeBlanc wouldn't turn me into Morales or Daniels.
And a Peter Eaton wouldn't make me sound like Emma Johnson.
And I call that a damn shame all around....
Now, what did DeFranco say about his reeds, mouthpiece, and ligature?:-)
