Tani,
I don't know if you've heard of my fingering book, but I think that would be
an excellent source for Eb clarinet fingerings.
The book has over 210 fingerings for the last octave of the clarinet (21 high
F#'s, 19 high G's, 14 highD's, etc.)
The fingerings are annotated and there are suggested uses for them in the
standard Bb literature.
However, I have spoken to Eb players and they all say the book is tremendously
helpful to them in finding fingerings which both tune, color and respond
better.
The book has been sold now for 12 years and has been in wide use in colleges
and universities, but ( in my opnion) should also be known and used by music
educators. When it was first published it was reviewed in The Clarinet by Lee
Gibson, who said it would become the standard referrence for clarinet
fingerings......and I guess it has, since it still sells several hundred
copies each year.
FYI,
the book has the present title:
CLARINET FINGERINGS: A GUIDE FOR THE PERFORMER AND EDUCATOR
It is publised by G. Leblanc Corp (P82 is the product number....I think) and
any music dealer can order it. It's also not expensive as books go
nowadays.....$12.00 retail I think.
If you order it I think it will help both Bb and Eb clarinets make better
choices I've never met anyone who was not pleased with the information. I
recall Larry Combs telling me he kept it constantly on his music stand in his
teaching studio.
Good luck with the Eb..........
best regards,
Tom Ridenour
