Hello to everyone.

I have noticed the recent heated debate about plastic vs. clarinet vs.
metal vs. greenline. Then hearing about other newsgroups like the horn
groups, etc, I found that they are doing practical jokes (ever think of
putting plastic wrap in a clarinet barrel?). I know that all
clarinetists have a sense of humor, in what little experience I have
even I know that.

What I was wondering, is what is everyone's favorite piece to play. My
personal favorite is "The Hounds of Spring" by Alfred Reed. I played
second clarinet on this piece last year and I really loved it.
Unfortunately it is a little bit over the heads of our high school band
(I played it at area All-State). Not only is it my favorite to play but
also to listen to.

To Mitch Bassman regarding your quip about the iron-on clarinet. That
comment really personified the discussion of this newsgroup lately, and
how silly it has gotten. It's an important issue, but one that we will
never ever agree on! (the iron-on would probably work best on plastic,
anyways)
