I don't want to belabor this ID issue on list (I'd take it offline right
away, but others might have better ideas than mine); nevertheless,

I understand the economics and convenience of "manufacturing." And I
certainly understand your not having time to get more involved. What I
*don't* understand is the directions for application and use. Maybe I'm
incredibly dense, but I'd rather attribute my lack of understanding to a
lack of experience with iron-ons. (It's only slightly more than my total
lack of experience auditioning for major symphony orchestras.)

Would attendees be expected to iron the ID logo on an entire week's worth
of shirts prior to the festival? (I really don't want to have a permanent
KLARINET logo on so many items of my clothing.) Would everyone on the
KLARINET list wear the same (gradually smellier) clothing each day? (That's
an alternative, but undesirable, form of identification.) Could we simply
pin the "iron-on" to our clean clothes each morning? Please help me to see
the implementation of your very much appreciated suggestion.

If my image of the iron-on *is* accurate, then why not print your logo
design (could you post it on your web site in advance?) on perforated cards
or stick-on labels instead. I'd be willing (if I actually get to attend the
event) to purchase from an office supply store (and donate to the KLARINET
list cause) a box of those plastic ID badge holders, so we really could pin
the KLARINET ID on to our shirts (or whatever) each day. (There couldn't be
too many hundreds of KLARINETers attending the festival, could there?) I
seem to recall an announcement (from you or Jim) that there would be a
table set up to publicize the mailing list. That would be an ideal
distribution spot for KLARINET IDs.

As I said, Mark, maybe I'm totally missing the intended image of how to use
your iron-on suggestion. If so, please set me straight; I'll simply back
off, go home from my non-musical day job, and practice the music that I'll
be playing in a concert this weekend.

>Maybe I could iron mine on my bald spot(s).

Ah ha! Similar to the forehead suggestion that I made in my preceding
message. It avoids the problem of having to iron a logo on your entire
festival wardrobe.

Perhaps we could iron them on our clarinets. But that would raise the
question of whether the iron-on transfer would adhere better to wooden or
plastic instruments, and how the tone quality or character would be
effected. I don't want to get into that issue right now.
