Oh, Cindy -- I wish I could stumble on that kind of a deal. I've been
haunting pawn shops and antique stores, as well as music stores that deal
in used instruments, looking for a metal clarinet that good at that kind of
a price. My main horn is an elderly Conn 444N that I've been playing since
I was in high school. I yearn for a new LeBlanc, but the Conn was once a
top pro-grade horn, the mechanism is bullet-proof, the sound is good, and
it does all I need a clarinet to do. The only thing is, I'd like to have a
plausible instrument I could play outside, or carry in the trunk in any
weather, without risking cracks in my cherished old wood instrument.
