I would hope you would buy a clarinet because you liked the way
it played in your hands and if that happens to be greeline,
so what? If it is made of cheddar cheese and you like it,
then buy it. Like many clarinetists you are obsessed with a
non issue; i.e., that somehow wood is materially better than
any other medium, and that is a very questionable hypothesis.

I played on a Bundy resonite E-flat clarinet for years and sounded
lousy. It was not until I bought a great wooden E-flat clarinet
did I realize that I was a lousy E-flat player and sounded just
as bad on the new instrument. I should have stuck with the old
one and saved money.

Stop being a prisoner of social pressure and buy what pleases you.
Any other course of action can, but not necessarily does, present
you with a difficult situation where you find yourself playing
on the instrument of choice but not as well as on the one you
liked.
