Hello. I am a 15 yr old student clarinetist and am planning on
performing "Concerto for Clarinet" by Jos. Haydn. It is published by
Molenaar Editions in Holland. I am trying to find a recording of this
particular piece. I received advice that this piece was originally for
the trumpet, but listening to a trumpet concerto by Haydn found that it
was different.

This same piece has piano accompaniment and can also be played by
soprano saxophone. If anyone's even heard of this song, please at least
email me because it seems to be somewhat obscure.

The piece opens with a piano introduction. The clarinet comes in on "C"
for three beats, then a short sixteenth note run. This pattern is
repeated a few times getting higher and higher until a high clarion "C"
is reached and held out for 12 beats with a fermata at the end. If it
sounds kind of familiar, I can give a more detailed description.

Thanks to all for your help.

How many clarinetists does it take to change a lightbulb?
Only one, but he'll go through a whole box of bulbs before he finds just
the right one.
