I'm a bit comfused, isn't closer tip/shorter curved mouthpieces suppose to
make the tone darker, and somewhat harder to project(stiffer). But why
close-tip should be used with stiffer reeds? Isn't it already hard enough
to project sound? why not use softer reed for it? And why soft reed should
be used with open-tip mouthpiece(it already has a brighter sound).
Personally, I'm trying to make a switch from B45 to a close-tip mouthpiece
like M13, I'm working toward a darker tone quality. Any recommandation?
