Concerning Gore-Tex (or Gor-Tex, or gortex, or goretex, or...),

Has anyone else compared these pads and synthetic pads? Unless I'm
understanding incorrectly, the Gore-Tex pads are leather, yes? I just had
my clarinet "Pleasantized" (by John Pleasant of Las Cruces), and he uses
synthetic pads for repadding. And the sound is amazing! Compared to my
old "whatever material they were!!" pads, the sound is so much more round
and projects much better. I'm just curious, because Mr. Pleasant
guarantees the pads for 2 years, IIRC, but he has explained to me that
they basically last a lifetime. For how long are the Gore-Tex pads
guaranteed? TIA,

(Under construction always because I have NO TIME to do anything with it!)

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to
see it, do the other trees make fun of it?

If an elephant falls, which suffers more: the elephant or the ground?
