The world premier Karaoke performance of Anton Reicha's Quintet for
flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon, Opus 88, No. 1 will take
place this afternoon in Natural Sciences and Mathematics C239 on the
campus of California State University Dominguez Hills.
I anticipate an enthusiastic audience not suprisingly different in size
from past performances of this kind.

This quintet is a charming work and an important addition to the literature
of wind instruments. I thank the member of FLUTE who alerted me to
the quintets of Anton Reicha a month ago or so. More than two dozen
wind quintets that man wrote! That ought to take me the better part of the
final years of the second millenium! One down, twenty-four to go!

But best of all, this quintet is one that can be easily mastered by
people of average ability. I shall release it to my Web page shortly after
the performance this afternoon.

My address for you newcomers is

http://chemistry.csudh.edh/oliver/clarmusi.htm

I have little contact on the Internet with French hornists, bassoonists or
oboists. If you have contact with any of these curious (but jolly) creatures,
please alert them to its availability.

Happy playing! 8-)

Oliver
