Hi Fernando,

This is very enlightening and is certainly the way it should be with
orchestras in the U.S., and it is certainly the way that it used to be with
orchestras in the U.S.

Unless I hear from someone who knows the facts of this situation soon, I
will make a brief informal survey of some of the major symphony orchestras
in the U.S. to find out their policy and then post it to the list.

If someone knows the answers as to which orchestras exclude based solely on
resume, please post it to the list as that would save me a good bit of
phone time.
