Daniel, in my opinion a Vandoren mouthpiece can make almost any clarinet sound
better. But I have also played Artley clarinets with Artley mouthpieces, and
they seemed acceptable to me. Can you be more specific as to WHY you think you
need to "upgrade" your mouthpiece at this time? Also, have you considered a
less expensive way to improve your sound? That would be with a BG Revelation
ligature (there are probably others that members of this group would
recommend). You should be able to buy a BG Revelation for about $25. I suspect
that the lowly ligature is underestimated by many people but its contributions
can be enormous.
