That's "interesting" (in a warped sort of way) - you might ask some
of your kid's teachers if that means they do not accept the freebie
literature that some organizations send to schools for the kids to
read (being a biomedical scientist, I've had the most experience
with publications sent by animal rights groups and various
consumer protection groups, but I know that other organziations do
the same thing). Most schools (or individual teachers) in the
areas I've lived (Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri) have willingly accepted
these because budget crunches are limiting the amount of new reading
material they can buy - anything that's free is willingly accepted.
If the teacher's are free to accept those materials, you have a way
around the board. If not, although it does probably mean yet another
chilling rendition of Eine Kline Nachtmusik, they are at least
consistent. I'd ask the teachers (rather than the board) since most
of the mailings I'm talking about were sent to the teacher/school
directly (they may simply be bypassing the board, although that may
depend on what state they are dealing with).
