I am now a freshman in college and when I was in high school our music
program experienced the same problems, and still does. There was a time
when the administration wanted to cut the entire music program. Thanks to
the complaints
of parents and students this didn't happen. When this problem first came
up, I wrote a letter to the principal of the school, then to the school
committee. I read the letter at a school committee meeting, and many
parents also expressed their concerns. I think the best thing to do is to
let your arguments be heard, and the more people that get involved the
more successful you will be. It is not easy, but hopefully things will
work
out in the end. Good luck.
