Fred's points are good. But, there is a small flaw here. As soon as the
request is one that places the band in the same category as the athletic
teams....eg, extra curricular activities......the danger of being
cancelled, cut, etc. is even greater. I would urge Jill to do everything
possible to encourage the band program to become something within the
curriculum that is unique and, therefore, worth paying for.
